Christian Weber (doublebass) & noid (cello) + Jamie Drouin Trio

free improvisation
Mon 26.11. - 21:00

The naked sound of strings is pushed to the extremes, improvised with a particular concern for structure. Christian Weber and noid (Arnold Haberl) create immersive intensities.

This evening will start with an improvisation by the Czech-Canadien Jamie Drouin Trio.

Christian Weber is involved in numerous jazz and improvised music projects across Europe, having played with a wide spectrum of musicians ranging from John Butcher to Otomo Yoshihide.
“He is fast becoming one of the most interesting players on the European elektroacoustic Improv scene. Although he's a good free improvisor, he seems to prefer to work with predetermined structures, albeit ones that are either hidden or very discreet.” [Brian Marley - The Wire (UK) Jan 2007].

noid's work spans a wide range from sound installations, music for dance performances, to solo releases, never forgetting his improvisation background. Recently he performed with Axel Doerner, Taku Unami and Burkhard Stangl. Last year we saw him leading a workshop in gallery Skolska 28 focused on sound software ppooll.

Canadian artist Jamie Drouin explores the subtleties of experience and the way we perceive temporal space through site-specific installations, video, and performance. He has collaborated with several international artists including recent projects with Lucio Capece, Johnny Chang, Sabine Vogel and others. In Prague he will perform in an audiovisual trio with Michal Kindernay and Petr Vrba.
